Weihai, May 11th A Singaporean tanker sailed to the sea near Chengshantou in Weihai, Shandong on May 10 when a Singaporean crew member suffered a heart attack and his life was in danger. The Beihai Rescue Flight Team of the Chinese Ministry of Transport urgently dispatched a rescue helicopter to implement the rescue and successfully sent the critical crew to the land hospital for treatment. At present, the patient is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Weihai.
At 11:05 am on the 10th, the Penglai rescue center of the Beihai rescue team of the Chinese Ministry of Transport informed the Weihai Maritime Search and Rescue Center that about 30 nautical miles east of Weihai Chengshantou, a Singaporean tanker “maerst nautica” had a Singaporean crew member. Sudden heart attack, serious condition, requested helicopter rescue.
The Chinese rescue helicopter flew directly from Penglai Airport to the rescue area. After more than 120 nautical miles of flight, rescue crew members flew over the tanker.
This is a super-large tanker with a length of 333 meters and a width of 30 meters. There is a dedicated helipad on the deck of the tanker. Captain Xu Fan found that the apron is too small, has some tilt, and there are many obstacles around it, which is not suitable for helicopters he drives. After negotiating with the crew, the crew decided to use a winch to hoist the critical crew to the helicopter.
Lifeguard Kong Wei jumped out of the engine room, boarded, stretched and bundled, and hoisted the winch... In five minutes, the crew members worked closely to successfully lift the critical crew onto the helicopter. Then, the helicopter flew directly to the nearby Weihai Airport. At 13:25, the helicopter landed at Weihai Airport. With the cooperation of relevant departments of Weihai Airport, the Singaporean crew took immigration procedures in a short period of time.
