According to the US media leftlane on November 30th, Kia has confirmed that it is ready to enter the field of micro-cross-broad cars with great potential, and plans to launch a new car.
The body of the new Kia crossover is about 168 inches (4267mm) long, 70 inches (1778mm) wide and 64 inches (1626mm) high. The overall size of the body is very similar to the recently introduced Fiat 500X. Kia’s senior executives revealed that the design of this crossover was heavily influenced by the Niro concept car at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
This crossover will either use the longest-looking 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine in the Kia lineup. Customers can also purchase a 1.6-liter engine version in the designated market; in addition, the European version will also be equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Like most models in the compact crossover range, the new Kia will be equipped with four-wheel drive as standard and all-wheel drive.
Kia's micro-crossover will make its debut at a major international auto show at the end of next year or early 2016. The car is expected to be sold globally, including Europe, Asia and Australia, but it is still unknown in the US market.
