1. Check the pump body and pulley for wear and damage, and replace if necessary. Check whether the water pump shaft is bent, the degree of wear of the journal, and whether the shaft end thread is damaged. Check whether the blade on the impeller is broken and whether the shaft hole wears seriously. Check the degree of wear of water seals and bakelite washers. Replace them if they exceed the usage limits. Check the bearing's wear condition, can use the watch to measure the bearing clearance, if exceeds 0.10mm, should replace the new bearing.
2. After the water pump is taken out, it can be decomposed in order. After the decomposition, the parts should be cleaned and checked one by one to see if there are defects such as cracks, damage, and wear. If there are serious defects, they should be replaced.
3. Repair of water seals and seats: If the water seal is grooved, it can be grinded with an emery cloth and it should be replaced if it has worn out; if the water seal seat has rough scratches, it can be repaired with a plane reamer or on a lathe. Replace the new water seal assembly when overhauling.
4. Welding repair is allowed on the pump body with the following damage: length is within 3Omm, does not extend into the crack of the bearing seat hole; the flange joint with the cylinder head has a broken part; the oil seal seat hole is damaged. The bend of the water pump shaft must not exceed 0.05mm, otherwise it should be replaced. Impeller blade damage should be replaced. The water pump shaft hole wear should be replaced or repaired.
5. Check if the bearing of the water pump rotates flexibly or with abnormal noise. If there is a problem with the bearing, it should be replaced.
6. After the water pump is assembled, rotate it by hand. There is no seizure of the pump shaft and the impeller and the pump housing are not rubbed. Then check the pump displacement. If there is a problem, check the cause and remove it. If the pump fails, the coolant will not reach the corresponding place and its performance will not be effectively exerted, thus affecting the working conditions of the engine. Therefore, the inspection of the water pump must be strengthened.
