US company develops stable ammonium nitrate

Honeywell of the United States recently stated that they and JR Simplot have obtained a production license for a stable ammonium nitrate fertilizer Sulf-N 26 .

Sulf-N 26 is a new type of solid particulate ammonium thionyl sulfate (ASN) fertilizer. According to the Honeywell patent, this fertilizer is made from ammonium sulfate and ammonium nitrate. It is a brand-new highly stable molecular structure. Fertilizer, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium and sulfur content was 26-0-0-14.

Under the agreement, Honeywell will be responsible for the engineering design and construction of the Simpully Lathrop plant in California. Simplo is responsible for factory operations and market sales in the western United States, western Canada, and northern Mexico. The plant is expected to be completed and put into use in early 2013.

Honeywell said: "Sulf-N 26 can be mixed with other fertilizers, and can guarantee the safety of transportation and storage. At the same time, this new type of fertilizer has higher fertilizer efficiency than traditional fertilizers."
