ZF , a parts supplier, announced that it will provide a transmission and clutch system for the Hino Team SUGAWARA Hino Team. The team will participate in the Dakar Rally held from January 5th to 18th, 2014.

HINO Team SUGAWARA has so far won four consecutive truck- level championships for less than 10 tons of Dakar. This team will be equipped with ZF-supplied gearboxes and clutch components in 2014, including clutch plates, clutch covers and release bearings.
Masayoshi SUGAWARA, the No. 1 truck driver and team manager of the Hino Team, said: “The Dakar Rally has a very high requirement for the reliability and speed of vehicles. We are very pleased that ZF will provide us with the main components. These products are In the past, there was good performance in the tournament."
ZF said that the company has participated in the Dakar Rally for the past few years. In 2012, the Iveco Powerstar, which was the key for the Dakar Rally Truck category, was equipped with the Ecosplit automatic transmission supplied by ZF. The Iveco Trakker of the gearbox also won the second and sixth place respectively.
