The grid-connected power generation capacity has been 30 megawatts, of which CGNPC Solar Power Co., Ltd. Xitieshan 10 MW photovoltaic power station has all been connected to the grid for power generation. The accumulated investment was 1.1 billion yuan. In the first quarter of 2011, an investment of 700 million yuan was completed.
Around solar power generation, Qinghai Province has formed a new industrial chain of new materials and new energy. In January 2009, the Asian Silicon Industry annual production of one thousand tons polysilicon project was successfully put into production in the Xining (National) Economic and Technological Development Zone. The first phase of the project will build an annual output of 1,000 tons of polysilicon, with a total investment of 99.8 million US dollars. With the success of the Silicon Asia (Qinghai) Co., Ltd., the Yellow River upstream hydropower development company, and Qinghai Huasil Energy Co., Ltd. successfully settled in the Xining Economic and Technological Development Zone, marking the formation of a solar photovoltaic industry system based on solar silicon materials in Qinghai Province. At present, there are more than 20 manufacturers of solar silicon materials in Qinghai Province.
